I've been looking for some sort of online version of a Nicholsons guide. Does such a thing exist? I found this http://www.waterexplorer.co.uk as suggested by someone on a previous blog entry of mine but it doesn't seem to tell you the winding holes, water points etc... or have I not looked in the right place.
Where is the best place to get up to date information about the necessary facilities we'll need?
Help will be much appreciated!

You're wrong about winding holes (zoom in) but right about water points as far as Water Explorer and the GPS-driven Navvygator is concerned. They have the former but not the latter.
ReplyDeleteBW's Boaters Guides will give you the water points etc, but be warned they are not 100% reliable in every respect.
CanalPlan is excellent for route planning. But also have a look at waterwayroutes.co.uk where Paul sells downloadable maps which work on tablets and phones and are bound to be more up to date than any printed map.
