Since we've started packing up our belongings, we've been discussing what items we should have shipped over to use on our narrowboat. This has got us talking about our favourite dinners and which of them will be suitable or practical for preparing in the close quarters of a narrowboat galley. We won't be able to take the numerous utensils, gadgets and electrical equipment that we currently have - and we have a restricted quantity of them already! Our kitchen is only small so I avoid having too many. And what about cookbooks... we won't be taking them. The other consideration is ingredients. We won't be able to have a fridge full of jars of all sorts of things.
So now I have another project. I thought of taking note of which of our favoured meals we could easily make on our narrowboat and perhaps scanning or photocopying the recipe, or writing it down if it's one that's in my head. Then, I thought perhaps I could make a blog entry for each recipe so we can print them from the blog.
Some of our favourite recipes come from the Symply too Good to be True books. They are full of tasty, healthy recipes that use fairly basic ingredients. Working in Melbourne for a few days each week has meant that I've had to be well organised with the groceries and plan ahead what meals we'll prepare. This might be useful for our future narrowboating life too!
First recipe coming up soon.......................
