2013 : what a year!

January : a snowy month tucked up in the marina.

February : Mick returned to Australia to do a building job.... I had a visit to London and then to my friend, Claudia, in Germany.

March : I waved off the other Winter moorers and flew off to Lake Garda in Italy for a few days with Claudia and her daughter Tamara.... returning to Heathrow to meet Mick as he flew in from Australia.

April : Off we went!  It was a very cold and windy start to our cruising.  Fradley... Fazeley... Hawkesbury... Napton... just to name the junctions.

May : one of our favourite canal villages; Stoke Bruerne.... a surprisingly enjoyable cruising through Milton Keynes... a visit to the Crick Boat Show.

June : our birthday month was one of the best...... we cruised right into London and then out along the mighty Thames.

July : we will always remember July for the Summer heat while moored in Banbury.

August : a short break to Tenby in Wales.  Then we tackled the Hatton flight and cruised our way into Birmingham.

September : we had a visit from Jen and Jude... our neighbours from home.  The other highlight of the month was being moored in the basin at Stratford upon Avon.... magical.

October : we survived Tardebigge... had a visit from Anthony and Leanne... finally made it to the Black Country Museum... and enjoyed our cruise up the Shroppie.

November : we ticked the Anderton Boat Lift off our list... started heading for the marina... and sadly, we lost Mick's mum.

December : a catch up with the Winter moorers from last year... and Christmas in the Cotswolds.

Lovely recap that Elly. I enjoyed the Cotswold bit, having been only once to Bourton on the water for a day it was rather nice even when we went in November. It's only 2 hrs away from here, but that's more than we usually travel for a day out! Jack our son was at university in Gloucester at the time and we stayed over night there so that was the reason we made it then.
Good reading

We just love the Cotswolds. It's an area well worth exploring. Hope you get to visit again some time.
