It always amazes me when I look at our blog traffic feed or stats and see visitors from so many different countries. To think that people from so many places are interested, or in some cases addicted, to the canals and narrowboats.
It brought a smile to my face reading today's blog entry by Debbie on nb Tickety Boo.
A woman from Germany discovering narrowboats and now she's dreaming about a life on the canals too! Germany holds a special place in my heart - I have a very dear friend there. Claudia and I have been friends since we were teenagers and I visit her as often as I can. It's a very happy side benefit of our narrowboat plan, that I'll be able to use my frequent flyer points to fly across to Germany to visit her more often for the time we are in the UK.

Hi Elly & Mick,
We're going to Germany in August to spend my 50th (agghhh) birthday with our son the soldier, his German wife & new baby Ryan who we've only seen on Skype so far. Liam's based over there & we just have to deal with it.

Hi Heth,
I'm sure you'll have a lovely birthday in Germany and it will be very exciting to meet your grandson. Where in Germany are they?
Cheers, Elly
He's based at Belefelt (sorry could be a typo or 2) they've only just moved there. Previous to that he was based at Guttersloh - probably a typo in that too, it's getting a bit late in the day here - well thats my excuse lol :-)
