Hi Elly and Mick, A nice boat! Colecraft is a very good make, and it seems to have everything you could need including the travel pack, pity it may be a bit too soon for you both. Hope alls well. Doug
Colecraft are now one of the longest established builders on the canals. I believe they were awarded the contract to build the trip boats that will take visitors to the London Olympics, and I also remember them being contracted to build the Hanbury range for the New and Used Boat Co., the first UK built boats for them, the Aqualines being built in Poland. If you haven't already found it Colecraft's website is http://www.colecraft.co.uk/index.htm As for Barry Cousins, I have no experience, but the pics certainly look good. He is shown as still operating as a pro boat fitter from High House Wharf on the Grand Union Canal, near Northampton. http://www.cylex-uk.co.uk/company/barry-cousins-narrowboat-services-14227023.html
Epiphany was built by Colecraft and we would have no hesitation in recommending them.
Well, well... some good comments about Colecraft. We'll definitely remember them for future reference. I also found Barry Cousins still in operation but no further information - good or bad. Still, if we were there today, this would be our pick!
