Wedgewood Museum
Stone visitor moorings to Barlaston : 4 miles, 7 locks
To date : 967 miles, 687 locks
We were up bright and early and on the move by 9am. We stopped at the water point just beyond the chandlery and Mick walked back for an additional bag of coal while I watched the water filling. We shared lock duties with me working the next three and Mick taking care of the Meaford Locks.
The weather was just stunning with the sun out and the sky blue. Perfect for cruising! It was a thoroughly enjoyable run up to Barlaston where we moored up so we could visit the Wedgewood Museum. The entrance was at the back of the enormous building and we had to walk all the way around it, almost to where we started, to go in. It was worth a look.... very interesting.
Just behind us is a winding hole with the first swan nest of the season being built. First we've seen anyway! We also saw quite a fee crocus out so it's really feeling like Spring.
It's been a thoroughly enjoyable day.
